Revive the downtown “Main Street ”area of the city to stimulate the local economy, through acquisition and restoration of local buildings, developing locally owned businesses, providing affordable retail spaces, building community, spaces, designing walkable attractions, pop-up shops, and downtown community-building events.
PROJECT ONE is a program designed to Encourage community building through projects, events, and celebrations that bring diverse individuals, groups, and organizations together for a common cause. Bridging the social gap and breaking down the walls of ethnic, cultural, economic, and race through working, playing, and communing together.
We come together as "One" to remove blight:
1. Downtown clean up project-clean and beautify the downtown corridor;
2. Taste of the Delta; An annual community-wide music and food festival with vendors from across the Arkansas Delta. We come together to share in the sounds and taste of the diverse culture that is Monroe County and Brinkley Arkansas.
3. Paint and beautification
Project 312 addresses the need for physical, emotional, and mental well being through encouraging physical activities like the "Ride Around Brinkley" biking event, active outdoor play (basketball, tennis, group games, walking, hiking, etc.).
Project312 works to develop, restore, and maintain activity spaces like walking trails, sidewalks, bike paths, play fields, basketball courts, tennis courts in the local community.
The prosperity of the community is no greater than that of the individuals who make up the community.
Design and highlight the historical value, local contributions, and notable achievements of the community through displays, signs, and public art to capitalize on the uniqueness of our city and region--Emphasizing the contributions made by African Americans.
